About the artist: Janusz Kik
Janusz Kik is a Polish-born artist known for blending realism with abstraction in dynamic, expressive paintings. Born in 1956 in Chorzów, Poland, he began drawing early and later studied at the Academy of Fine Arts in Katowice. Now based in Hyères, France, he continues to evolve his style, drawing from both his Polish heritage and Mediterranean environment.
Working primarily in acrylic on canvas, Kik explores themes of nature, light, and atmosphere—often focusing on marine landscapes, harbors, and reflections. His use of layered brushwork and gloss varnish brings depth and movement to his compositions. Kik’s paintings offer a rich, emotional experience, capturing fleeting moments and transforming them into timeless visual poetry.
