Guy Pichon
Guy Pierre Arthur Pichon (1933–2007) was a self-taught painter and mathematician born in Cherbourg. Though he pursued an academic career in mathematics, his true passion was painting the Normandy coast, inspired by artists like Marquet, Corot, and Dufy. For decades, Pichon captured the light and landscapes of Normandy and Picardy, working outdoors with a field easel or in his Haudricourt studio from photographs. His subjects—churches, beaches, boats, skies, and fleeting figures—reflect a deep love for the region’s changing moods and quiet beauty. A member of the Salons des Artistes Indépendants in Paris and Rouen, he produced over 800 works. His paintings are held in private collections and galleries like SIMPARGA. We arr happy to present an exclusive selection of this prolific artist.
