Nicolas Maillet

We are proud to present Nicolas Maillet. Born in 1965, he is a contemporary French artist known for his figurative work in oil, watercolor, and drawing. His subjects include Atlantic coastlines and urban scenes, all unified by a deep focus on light and atmosphere. Inspired by Albert Marquet and Normandy landscape painters, Maillet uses bold, contrasting strokes and a restrained palette to capture mood and movement. His Indian ink drawings distill scenes into a few expressive lines, while abstract works influenced by Henri Michaux reveal a more introspective side. A member of the Maison des Artistes and listed in the AKOUN art rating, Maillet’s work appears in private collections in France and abroad, reflecting a practice rooted in clarity, emotion, and poetic simplicity. We are very happy to include some of his works in our collection.
